Trot Magazine, Canada’s leading horse
racing publication, is seeking an energetic and creative associate editor to
join its team.
For more than 30 years, Trot has been Canada’s voice of Canadian harness
racing. As the official publication of Standardbred Canada, the focus of Trot
has changed over the years. Today the publication, received across the
country and around the world, is a full-colour magazine with youthful appeal
and editorial depth.
The associate editor is responsible for working with freelance writers,
generating story ideas and content for the publication and website,
copy-editing, and overseeing the production of each issue.
Knowledge of the harness racing industry and a diploma or degree, preferably
in a journalism-related field, would be strong assets. This is a position
that will require the successful applicant to work in Trot Magazine's
Mississauga, ON office. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate for this full-time position will be:
- passionate about horses and/or horse racing

- a strong writer and storyteller

- accurate and detail-oriented
- able to follow strict deadlines
