JOB TITLE: Chief Executive Officer
REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
Founded in 1997, the Mission of the Equine Land Conservation Resource (ELCR) is to advance the conservation of land for horse-related activity throughout the United States. The organization has an annual budget of $400,000.
ELCR is a not-for-profit educational and networking resource for horsemen and communities. Since studies show that all land is saved locally, ELCR provides the information horsemen need to protect horse lands and trails in their communities. For more information, please visit www.elcr.org
Responsibilities
- Implementation of strategic plan
- Development and management of annual budget
- Outreach to equine and conservation communities
- Oversight of and participation in fundraising activities
- Support and work with Board of Directors and Advisory Council
- Manage staff and office activities, including development of educational programs and communication materials
Education and Experience
- Nonprofit experience at management level
- Experience working with and answering to a Board of Directors
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in conservation field and equine industry
Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and managerial ability
- High energy and passion
