AHP Bulletin Board: Special request from ELCR - competition sites lost to development

Posted by: Equestrian Land Conservation Resource

The Equestrian Land Conservation Resource is compiling a list of equine competition sites/locations that have been lost to development in the last ten years or so (2007 and forward).

There is no formal way to gather this information other than to ask horsemen and equestrians if there are competition locations at which they used to school or compete that are no longer available to them for those purposes because of development.

Would you please let us know the locations at which you or your friends used to school or compete and can no longer?  Please send that information to dballiet@elcr.org or to info@elcr.org with the Subject = Lost Competition Grounds

The information we are seeking is as follows:

1.  Name by which the Competition Site or Farm was commonly known,

2.  City & State

3.  Type of competition held there (i.e. reining, dressage, cross-country, roping, driving, polo, etc.)

Feel free to forward this message on to others so that they may also respond.

Deadline for submission is December 1, 2008
