AHP members are getting a major boost to their member benefits with the release of the 2015 AHP Equine Industry Survey Results. The summary overview and data provide a wealth of information for members to use via their own publishing channels in the horse industry. Some of the information will be more important than others especially in specific geographic regions or disciplines. This is vital and exclusive information that can establish American Horse Publications members as a credible resource for the horse industry.

With a history of three viable industry surveys, American Horse Publications has made the decision to release the results of its current study granting a non-exclusive license to its members only.  The overview summary of the survey is available for download below.

The 2015 AHP Equine Industry Survey was conducted from Jan. 6 through April 1, 2015. It sought to gauge participation trends and management practices in the U.S. equine industry, to identify critical issues facing the equine industry as perceived by those who own or manage horses, and to better understand issues pertaining to horse health and nutrition. The survey was limited to those who currently own or manage at least one horse, are 18 years of age or older, and live in the United States. The survey included responses from over 10,662 horse owners. The prior two equine industry surveys conducted by AHP in 2010 and 2012 set the benchmark and the 2015 survey continues the trend of collecting over 10,000 usable responses.

The 2015 survey was sponsored by Zoetis and promoted by AHP members. In their July press release, Zoetis reported, “The equine industry has found stability and shows positive signs of growth, especially among young adult horse owners and event participants.” The entire Zoetis release is available at https://www.americanhorsepubs.org/equine-survey/2015-equine-survey/
