Note: Cassandra is a first year Master's student majoring in agricultural education. Her career goal is to become an equine educator by teaching in the classroom and publishing research. She intends to focus her research on how being involved in the equine industry benefits individuals first on an academic level and later in the work force. It is her intent that this research will help bring more government funding to equine riding programs and the research of equine science. Note: Nadja is German, studying Equine Leisure and Sports in the Netherlands. After graduating in 2009, she hopes to work in the United States. Her interests are in equine scientific journalism. She would like to make newest scientific research and findings more known as well as tangible and applicable for everyone involved in horses. Note: Katie is a senior at Indiana University of Pennsylvania studying Journalism. In 2005, she obtained her associate degree in Equestrian Studies at The University of Findlay. As she wraps up her undergraduate career, she couldn't imagine a better career path than equine publishing. She is currently an intern in the communication department at the United States Pony Club headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky. She has learned plenty through this internship and had some work published. After graduation in December, she plans to apply to graduate school for professional writing and begin her search for equine/journalism jobs. Note: Jessica has been involved with horses for 11 years and during that time she has taken her Hanoverian gelding from Fourth Level dressage to bridleless riding. She started her Quarter Horse gelding herself and is currently preparing him for a dressage career. She is greatly interested in combining the training techniques of English and Western riding. It was through a local reining trainer that she became involved with Les Vogt’s COWHORSE U. She co-authored and edited the book portion of this program. She is currently majoring in English and working as a staff writer for the Alaska Horse Journal, but her goal is to be a part of the creative team of a national horse publication such as Dressage Today, Horse Illustrated or EQUUS.

Note: Nicole is a journalism major at Western Washington University. At age 11, she began riding and a year later got her first horse. She competed in 4-H and performance shows including the Arabian show circuit. In 2004, she was selected as a Princess on the Clark County Fair Court and in August, she won the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Washington as well as Miss Congeniality, Horsemanship, Appearance and Personality awards. Nicole has been a reporter and news editor for the college newspaper and is currently the Editor-in-Chief. She also freelances for the Northwest Horse Source and Whatcom Magazine in Bellingham. Note: Since her first riding lesson at age eight, Leslie has been passionate about horses. After graduating from high school, she chose to pursue a degree in Equestrian Science, and then went on to teach and manage a riding program in her home state. She paired her passion with horses with her interest in journalism when she worked as a horse show correspondent for two different equestrian periodicals. She enjoyed the experiences, but she knows there is much more to equine journalism than simply covering events. Note: Catherine is eager to explore equine publishing, specifically in editing and design. Note: Annamaria, a college sophomore, has been riding and training horses most of her life. She started UltimateHorseSite.com at the age of 13 and it has grown into one of the larger equine sites on the web.
