Communique: Phillip Dutton Triumphs at 2008 Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event Outback Trading Company Supports Three-Day Eventer with New Performance Collection FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Media Contact: Equine Resources International, LLC 610-444-7554 Oxford, PA (May 5, 2008) -- Outback Trading Company is proud to congratulate Phillip Dutton on winning the 2008 Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, held April 24-27 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky. Riding Connaught, this was Dutton's first win after five second place finishes at the show. Connaught, a 15-year-old Irish Thoroughbred, owned by Bruce Duchossois, jumped a clear round in the show jumping. Coming into this final phase of the grueling competition, the duo was third after the Dressage with a score of 41.4 and had accumulated .4 time penalties on the cross-country round1. As only one of two horses to jump clear, Dutton's overall score of 41.7 sealed the win for him. Previously, the horse and rider combination had represented Australia at the 2006 World Equestrian Games before Dutton become an American citizen and started riding for the United States in 20072. "This year's Rolex presented steep competition and a brilliant course that caused many challenges for every horse and rider," said Dutton. "Connaught tried very hard; he's a great horse and I could not be more pleased with his performance." As Outback Trading Company's sponsored rider, Dutton took some time out of his schedule on Friday, April 25 to sign photographs of himself and Connaught at the Schneider's booth. Also, one lucky winner received a free Phillip Dutton, LLC jacket, courtesy of Outback Trading Company, from the company's new performance collection. This signature three-layer jacket offers unsurpassed technical features, including 100 percent waterproof fabric, windblock and U.V. protection. It's also extremely lightweight and breathable. "We are thrilled to have Phillip Dutton on board to represent Outback Trading Company and our performance brand," said Wilson King, president of Outback Trading Company. "We could not be happier for Phillip, his family, clients and support team for their success at Rolex. Also, we would like to thank Phillip's daughter, Lee Lee, for modeling our giveaway jacket and sporting it during the cross-country phase and after Phillip's show jumping victory. She was a pleasure to work with." Just a few miles up the road from Outback Trading Company's headquarters in the rolling hills of southeastern Pennsylvania, Dutton manages and trains out of True Prospect Farm, in West Grove, Pennsylvania. There he also spends a great deal of time coaching other riders, including many adult amateurs and a number of the United States Equestrian Team (USET) short listed riders. He resides in Avondale, Pennsylvania with his wife Evie, 13-year-old daughter Lee Lee, and six-year-old, twin daughters, Mary and Olivia.
