There will be new challenges to the stadium obstacle course, and new zigs and zags to the cross country course that will keep everyone moving. We are please to announce that our dressage judge, Mrs. Betty Ortlieb, is offering a dressage clinic on Sunday, April 19th, for those competing or not to get special one on one attention. If you are interested in the clinic, please contact, Kristie Wehmeyer at Rednrusty@bellsouth.net to sign up, or if you have questions contact her at 859-383-0133. Cost of the clinic is $35.00 and please note that $10.00 of that fee, Mrs. Ortlieb is donating back to the Three Phase Event toward their T.E.D. (training, education and development) program.
If you are unfamiliar with the Three Phase Event for Gaited Horses, it is a one of a kind event for gaited horses patterned after the Rolex Three Day Event. This event targets the seasoned trail and show horses, that do not jump but want to demonstrate their versatility in dressage, a set stadium obstacle course and a cross country course which demands stamina and willingness to meet field challenges. This is an annual event held this year on April 19th and 20th, at the new Kentucky Equestrian Center, 860 Kiddville Road, Winchester, Ky. The two day event is open to all breeds of gaited horses from all over the country and there is a limited number of entry openings for the non jumping trot horse. For more information regarding the event please go to our website; www.threephaseevent.com
We are still looking for program advertisers, so if you are interested in advertising your breed association, your club, your services or your business, this is an inexpensive way to do so. We are also still looking for sponsor for the event, and remember, we are a non profit, 501c3 organization, and all money we raise above the cost of putting on the competition goes toward the T.E.D. (training, education and development) program which we are building to give out scholarship money for those going into equine studies.
We invite you to check out the beautiful new and expanding facility where the Three Phase Event is hosted, the Kentucky Equestrian Center, located in Winchester, KY, www.kyequestriancenter.org Take a moment to go to their website and check out a place that could become your next event location. With two new lighted arenas, rv hook ups, restroom and shower building, 5 barns with 10’ x 10’ stalls and with the first of the barns with 12’ x 12’ stalls completed, the facility is truly continually growing.
