OCALA, FLORIDA (March 25, 2009) - Members of the press are invited to attend the 2009 Women LUV Horses Event in Ocala, Florida on April 3-5 at the Ocala Equestrian Complex. The event will feature a power packed educational forum of demonstrations, Gatorland Extreme Mustang Makeover Competition, Mustang Adoption, Competitive Events, Cowgirl Party and a great variety of vendors for shopping.

 

Press will have the opportunity to cover a number of premier events, including the first of its kind on the East Coast, the Gatorland Extreme Mustang Makeover Competition, Supreme HorseWoman Competition, and Cowgirl Party Charity Dinner.

 

In addition, press will have the chance to watch and interview four legendary horsewomen: Linda Parelli, Martha Josey, Lynn Palm and Cynthia Cantleberry. These women will be presenting clinics, participating in roundtable discussions with participants, and showcasing some of their equestrian skills. Several well-known female business owners in the horse industry will also be presenting throughout the three-day event.

 

A must see event; the Gatorland Extreme Mustang Makeover will host male and female trainers who will be competing for a $12,500 cash prize.  The purpose of the event is to showcase the beauty, versatility and trainability of America’s feral horse.  The event will challenge trainers and their mustang mares with only 100 days of training. The trained Mustangs will be available for adoption through a live bid process On April 5th at 12:00pm. 

 

The Cowgirl Party Charity Event and Silent Auction kicks off at 7:00 pm on April 3rd, 2009 with live music by Templeton Thompson, featured speakers, dinner, silent auction and live horsey entertainment.  The featured silent auction will benefit organizations including: AQHA America’s Horse Cares, AQHA Professional Horseman’s Crisis Fund, American Paint Horse Foundation, Mustang Heritage Foundation and the local Horses N Heroes. 

 

The Supreme HorseWoman Contest will take place over all three days of the event and are designed to showcase the partnership between horse and rider that challenge their communication skills, horsemanship ability and athleticism.  Contestants will be competing for over $5,000 in sponsored awards and class prizes.  Competitors may choose English or Western tack and will be competing in a variety of events including trail, equitation/horsemanship and musical freestyle.
