Nashville – Lisa Wysocky’s equestrian mystery, The Opium Equation, published in trade paperback by Cool Titles in September 2011, is now available in Kindle format.

The Opium Equation features a female horse trainer, Cat Enright, who lives near Nashville, Tennessee. Cat’s neighbor, retired movie star Glenda Dupree, was murdered at her antebellum mansion, but no one missed her much. Cat, a (mostly) law-abiding horse trainer, finds Glenda and is implicated––in Glenda’s murder and a young boy’s disappearance. With the help of riding students, a (possibly) psychic horse, a kid named Frog, and elderly client with electric blue hair, Cat hopes to solve the case.

Reviews of The Opium Equation have been stunning:

“As usual Lisa Wysocky writes with skill and nearly unparalleled knowledge of the equines she dearly loves. This time, she kicks it up a notch in a mystery that makes you think and keeps you riveted, it's a page turner.”
––Tess Vanattia, publisher, Horse South magazine

"From the first page to the last The Opium Equation will keep you engaged and wanting more, horse lover or not."
––Glenn Hebert, founder, Horse Radio Network

“This may be Lisa Wysocky's fiction debut, but she is no stranger to the equine world or to writing. With The Opium Equation, Wysocky takes her expertise in a new direction, with a fast-paced mystery set in the South. There is no shortage of action or unique characters, with a bit of humor thrown in as well. It's an entertaining read that takes you along for the ride as the story unfolds. BOTTOM LINE: A murder, a mystery, and a psychic horse. What's not to love?”
––Horsemen’s Yankee Pedlar, Kate Tully

“This quick and entertaining read will amuse fans of Carolyn Banks's equine mysteries.”
—Patsy E. Gray, Huntsville, AL for Library Journal

“Lisa Wysocky reins you in with a gentle tug, and then you're off on a whirlwind ride through uncharted mystery. The Opium Equation had us from giddy-up-GO!”
––Kim McLean and Devon O'Day, Plain Jane Wisdom, Fox News Radio, 1510WLAC
