Lexington, Ky. – June 20, 2012 -TheHorse.com will present “Stall Rest and Rehab: Keeping Your Horse Healthy, Safe, and Sane During Layup,” a free Ask the Vet Live audio and chat event on Thursday, June 21, 8 p.m. EDT, sponsored by Sweet PDZ Horse Stall Refresher. Experts will discuss the importance of stall rest for treating and rehabilitation of certain equine injuries and treatments, and how to maintain a healthy, calm environment during that time. Attendees can submit questions to be answered by the experts both prior to and during the live presentation.

Presenting Stall Rest and Rehab will be:

Brad Jackman, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACVS, is the owner and CEO of Pioneer Equine Hospital in Oakdale, Calif., where he and his team specialize in the care of the equine athlete. The practice includes a full-service equine hospital and is recognized as a leader in equine lameness and surgery. As a surgeon, Dr. Jackman helps treat and care for a wide variety of horse health issues and injuries. He is also an active committee member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and enjoys being involved in the recruitment and development of veterinary students.

Brad Bentz, VMD, Dipl. ACVIM, ABVP, and ACVECC, owns Bluegrass Equine Performance and Internal Medicine in Lexington, Ky., where he specializes in advanced internal medicine and critical care focused on helping equine patients recuperate at home. He’s authored numerous books, articles, and papers about horse health and currently serves as commission veterinarian for the Kentucky State Racing Commission.
