Part-Time Bookkeeper

GSS, The Marketing Agency is a female-founded, female-owned boutique marketing agency specializing in premium brands within the equestrian, sports, and lifestyle space. As we continue to grow, we're seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and leadership team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with small, growing businesses, values organization and accuracy, and is comfortable operating independently while collaborating closely with leadership.
Role Overview
Type: Part-time, contract (monthly invoice or 1099) Compensation: Sstarting at $500/month (Negotiable BOE) Estimated Time Commitment: 15 hours/month on average, with routine weekly calls, light weekly engagement and occasional one-off projects Expectations

Monthly Responsibilities
American Express Management Tagging, downloading, and categorizing transactions Entering transactions into QuickBooks (~2-3 hours/month) Invoicing & AR Creating monthly client invoices Issuing one-off invoices as needed Tracking outstanding invoices and following up on unpaid balances (~2-3 hours/month) Payroll Processing Weekly and/or monthly payroll processing (~1 hour/month) Financial Review & Reporting Preparing Profit & Loss statements Account reconciliation Monthly reporting prep for leadership review (~2-3 hours/month) Monthly Finance Call Participation in a recurring financial check-in call with leadership (~1 hour/month) Weekly Responsibilities
Email Support Monitoring and responding to finance-related emails Coordinating with leadership as needed (~1-2 hours/week) Annual Responsibilities
Tax Preparation Support Organizing financials and documentation for annual tax prep Working with CPA as needed (~3-5 hours annually) Miscellaneous / As-Needed
One-off projects or financial tasks Assistance with audits or documentation requests Joining phone calls with leadership, vendors, or advisors when needed Qualifications
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting support professional Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Experience with credit card reconciliation (American Express preferred) Comfortable with invoicing, payroll, and basic financial reporting Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive Able to work independently and meet deadlines Experience working with agencies, service-based businesses, or small teams is a plus Why GSS?
