The Appaloosa Youth Association (AYA) in conjunction with Larry Williams Photography has concluded the judging of the 2017 Youth Photography Contest. Youth compete in three divisions (13 & under, and 14-18) to showcase their photography talents. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three winners in each age division and the 1st place winner of each division will receive a one year subscription to the Appaloosa Journal—the official publication of the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC). The winners will also receive recognition for their achievement in the Appaloosa Journal. The AYA is pleased to announce the following youth as this year’s AYA Photography Contest winners:
13 & Under
- 1st Place- Naomi Ornelles, age 13, of Granbury, TX
- 2nd Place- Adam Ryun, age 8, of Woodworth, ND
- 3rd Place- Kaitlyn Ryun, age 6, of Woodworth, ND
- 1st and 3rd Place- Kelly Alley, age 18, of Knoxville, TN
- 2nd Place- Anastasia Honaday, age 16, of St. Petersburg, FL

The Appaloosa Youth Association (AYA) is the youth affiliate of the Appaloosa Horse Club. Officially approved in 1981, the AYA was the first youth program developed to complement an equine breed association.
