She graduated summa cum laude with an A.S. degree in Equine Business from Johnson & Wales University and went on to ghostwrite for eight-time Olympic Three-Day rider J. Michael Plumb, and oversee media relations for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Committee, IHSA National Championships, Live Oak International, National Horse Show, USET and USET Festival of Champions, Winter Equestrian Festival and World Pair Driving Championships.
