Back on Track USA is pleased to add riding helmets to their growing list of product offerings through its partnership with helmet design company, Trauma Void.
Trauma Void™’s EQ3™ helmet is the wave of the future, and the next step in brain protection technology for the equine industry. In addition to being ATSM/SEI certified, the most important component of the EQ3 helmet design is the incorporated Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (“MIPS”) technology, which has been used in bike, moto, and snow helmets for years. It is the latest in equine helmet safety based on testing from three different impact angles on the same helmet with and without MIPS. The result? A helmet that can redirect and reduce the rotational motion transmitted to the brain by adding the MIPS Brain Protection System.
What is MIPS technology?
The MIPS Brain Protection System is a helmet-integrated, low-friction layer designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts to the head. This layer creates a way for the rotational force to be absorbed and redirected rather than transmitted to the brain during an impact. It’s held in place with flexible bands that clip the MIPS liner to the helmet’s foam in multiple anchor points. The system sounds simple, but in reality, this technology was developed and tested over countless hours in a lab. By offering an equine helmet with this technology, we can provide a product that delivers higher safety properties and redirects and reduces damaging rotational motion to the brain. Back on Track CEO, Bo Lofvander, sees the launch of his new company, Trauma Void, and it’s partnership with Back on Track as an opportunity to continue providing quality products to his customers. “This type of helmet has been offered by Back on Track in Sweden for years and I am excited to finally be able to bring a similar helmet to the United States. Back on Track is known for its quality therapeutic products, and we take great pride in our customer satisfaction. I’ve dedicated months of my time in researching these helmets to determine if they meet the standards our customers expect from us. I would not sell something that I wouldn’t use myself or allow my daughter to use, and I couldn’t be more excited to say these helmets exceeded my expectations. Through our partnership with Trauma Void, we are looking forward to rolling them out to our customers.”
Safety may be the first priority of Trauma Void’s EQ3 helmet, but it is also designed for comfort and style. The design features a removable and washable Coolmax® lining inside a comfortable design with great ventilation, and it is being offered in both a smooth shell and microfiber shell option, with multiple colors to choose from. At a retail price of $249, safety can also be affordable.
Since 2003, Back on Track USA has become a household name in quality therapeutic products for horses, dogs, and people through the use of Welltex technology, which is infused into the fabric of our products. All of our products support horses, dogs, and people in their goals of achieving a more comfortable lifestyle. Look for the Trauma Void EQ3 helmet to be sold through Back on Track in both smooth shell and microfiber beginning in mid-February.
