Weaver Leather Partners with Ken McNabb Horsemanship for an Exclusive Line of Products

Weaver Leather LLC launches an exclusive selection of new products designed with the help of professional horseman Ken McNabb. McNabb recently shared, “I am thrilled to partner with Weaver Leather, a company who shares the same values and ethics, faith in God and enthusiasm for serving the industry with top quality products.” Featured products in the new line include headstalls, slobber straps, loop reins, a lifter bit and spurs.

A true blue American cowboy and host of the award-winning RFD-TV show, Discovering the Horseman Within, Ken first partnered with Weaver Leather in 2016. The partnership has flourished into many areas with the most recent collaboration resulting in a line of products great for training, ranching, everyday trail riding and more.

The headstalls feature buckled cheek pieces, easily adjusted to fit a wide range of horses. Available in canyon rose, black and russet, they are handcrafted in the USA from quality hand buttered and oiled harness leathers.

Each headstall can be paired with a coordinating slobber strap, designed to add weight and feeling to the bit. Offering clear communication, the slobber straps exaggerate the “release” in training or collection exercises for horse and rider. The exclusive figure 8 design of these straps allows a rider to easily assemble a set of loop reins and move them from bit to bit quickly.

Crafted from 9/16” yacht braid rope, the loop reins are designed to easily attach to the Ken McNabb slobber straps with a sliced eye that also allows the rider to disconnect from one side of the slobber strap and create a 10’ lead rope. The weight of these reins adds an additional feel in training and is an option for beginner, intermediate or advanced riders.

When asked what makes the new lifter bit so special McNabb stated, “I designed the bit to uniquely apply an even ratio of pressure to the horse’s mouth without needing to use any leverage, making it the perfect transition bit from a snaffle to the bridle. Mimicking a similar signal to a snaffle, this bit is not too strong and features a football-shaped bit attachment to prevent any pinching. Partnering the cheek and 3-piece lifesaver mouth design, this bit offers the perfect combination for achieving collection, quick release and lateral flexion.”

Rounding out the current line is an exclusive spur design, a favorite of McNabb. Featuring a rasp cowboy style design, the spurs have a 2” shank, 1-1/4” band and 10 point rowel.
