Janet Rose, founder of the EQUUS INTERNATIONAL Film Festival®, is among Monty Roberts’ featured presenters at his 2018 Moment of Join-Up® The Movement Symposium, May 23-24, at Flag Is Up Farms in Solvang, California.
“The mission of The Movement is to take as many humans as possible on a journey to discover the unique power of horses. To find mindfulness, to learn and apply non-violent forms of communication and leadership, and to help humans and horses live a better life,” said Roberts, one of the world’s best-known trainers and a New York Times best-selling author who was invited to last year’s EQUUS INTERNATIONAL Film Festival in Montana to accept its Icon Award for his lifelong dedication to bettering the horse world.
Rose has built a 30-year career, as a CEO, Executive Director and Senior Director, in nonprofit sectors specializing in equine welfare and wildlife conservation. She is founder and director of the equine rescue and adoption organization, Horse Haven Montana, and its primary outreach project, EQUUS INTERNATIONAL Film Festival. EIFF 2018 – the equestrian films equivalent of the Academy Awards – will return to the Roxy Theater in Missoula, Montana, over Veteran’s Day Weekend, November 9-11, to again present an international slate of films and videos that honor horses and present the issues facing them in the 21st century.
The Movement is designed for the novice rider, the non-rider, and those who want to observe advanced horsemanship at work. There will be demonstrations on how to communicate with horses in their natural language in various situations, and Monty and his Certified Instructors will work with a range of young and remedial horses.
The Moment of Join-Up® Movement Symposium is limited to 300 people. For information see www.MomentofJoinUp.com. The EIFF Call for Entries is now open through August 30 see www.equusinternationalfilmfestival.com.
