The 2018 Egyptian Event: New Dates and a Celebration of Ansata Arabian Stud’s 60th Anniversary

The Pyramid Society, in a break from tradition, is pleased to announce new dates of August 29 – September 1 for the 2018 Egyptian Event at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.

Pyramid Society President Rebecca Rogers states, "Since the early 1980’s, the first full week of June has been the time of our annual gathering for the Egyptian Event.  However, as The Society grew into a thriving international organization, these dates posed conflicts with other Arabian shows, as well as for those who were unable to attend due to breeding and foaling obligations.   Since we are, after all, a breeders’ organization, it seemed logical to move the dates of our Event to a time of the year when more breeders can participate."

This year the theme of the Event is “Celebrating the Legacy” as we honor founding member Judith Forbis, and the 60th Anniversary of Ansata Arabian Stud.  In addition to the legendary achievements of Judi and the late Donald Forbis as breeders, their foresight and commitment helped guide The Society and the Straight Egyptian Arabian to the global influence enjoyed by both today.

In addition to the festivities surrounding the tribute to Ansata, this year’s Event will host the return of the Stallion Showcase, a crowd favorite for mare owners and enthusiasts from around the world.  Always more than just a horse show, the 2018 Event will also include a selection of educational seminars and presentations, the exciting Egyptian Breeders' Challenge Straight Egyptian Stallion Breeding Auction, an elegant gala and premier auction, barn parties, unique shopping opportunities, awards ceremonies, and of course top level competition with the world’s most exquisite Egyptian Arabian horses.
