SmartPak Welcomes New Ownership and New Leadership

SmartPak’s customers to benefit from ownership by global leader in animal health, as well as the leadership of a new CEO

SmartPak is pleased to announce its new ownership by Covetrus, the standalone public company that resulted from the spin-off of the Henry Schein Animal Health business, and its merger with Vets First Choice.  Prior to this transaction, the majority ownership of SmartPak has been held by Henry Schein Animal Health since May of 2014.

SmartPak’s mission continues to be Healthy Horses and Happy Riders. Moreover, being part of this global leader in animal health will allow SmartPak to continue to innovate, educate, and serve its customers’ changing needs.

“More than ever, we want to provide our customers with the best possible products and service,” said Fraser Cameron, CEO at SmartPak. “Being part of Covetrus enables us to stay true to our values and invest in our business.”

SmartPak recently welcomed Cameron as its Chief Executive Officer, formerly President and CEO of Velcro Companies. “Since joining SmartPak, I’m amazed at the passion of our people, most of whom are riders themselves,” said Cameron. “I’ve joined this great team to make sure that we are deserving of our customers’ trust and that our commitment to our mission of Healthy Horses and Happy Riders is our number one priority.”

“Over the past few months, I’ve been working closely with the SmartPak team to learn about the business, our customers, and their horses from the inside, out,” Cameron added. “I’m looking forward to using my expertise to build upon SmartPak’s strong foundation and enhancing the exceptional attributes for which we are known and loved, including speedy, reliable shipping and world-class customer service.”

SmartPak’s mission of Healthy Horses and Happy Riders will continue to be at the core of everything they do. As they double down on their commitment to their customers and their horses, they will strive to make life at the barn even easier with their innovative products, world-class customer service, and speedy, reliable shipping.
