So, picture this....
I sit down to down to work, excited to dig into content creation, scheduling and other marketing strategies for my clients.
As many of you know, I create content for social media and email.
I log on to Facebook, or at least I tried, and get a big error message. Now, mind you, I live in the sticks so I assumed it was my internet.
Fast forward an hour as I sit at Starbucks. It was clearly not my internet at home.... the internet did, in fact, explode. Facebook and Instagram are down. Cue mass panic!
I took to Twitter to see what was happening and it wasn't just me. In over 10 years of using Facebook, I have never experienced this long of an outage. I felt lost.
What is a business owner to do now?
Well the news is good if you have a functional website and an email list, so breathe easy. This outage got me thinking.
WHAT IF THOSE PLATFORMS DISAPPEARED TOMORROW FOREVER?
Do you have all your eggs in one basket?
Have you been relying on Facebook, Etsy, or Instagram to run your business?
Have you been skimping on a website or maybe you don't have one at all?
Have you skipped email all together because you "don't have time" or "don't like email"?
