Seven years ago, Lynn Palm, Cyril Pittion-Rossillon and Marie-Frances Davis offered a mock horse show at their Fox Grove Farm to allow clinic riders a chance to experience a judged dressage test. Fast forward to 2019 and you see three rings filled with dressage tests, trail challenge courses and ranch riding patterns with day end and series end awards sponsored by generous and supportive companies like SmartPak, Springhill Equine Veterinary Clinic, Sparr Building and Farm Supply, Three Does Ranch and Three Oaks Ranch.
And so was Sunday, March 24 at Fox Grove Farm in Ocala, FL, three rings of competitions with horses and riders cross training for all. A very successful day compromised of traditional and western dressage tests, in hand and ridden trail challenges on the natural obstacle course and ranch conformation, ranch riding, ranch horsemanship and ranch trail was had by all. With 3 judges, their scribes and the assistance of 10 volunteers, more than 50 horse and riders went through the paces of the three rings.
With some competitors vying for the All Around Champion to be awarded a Showman Ranch Versatility Saddle made exclusively for the Tack Shack in Swansboro, NC, they entered classes in all 3 rings to showcase their versatility and cross training for multiple events. Four ladies in the running for the saddle to be awarded December 7 are Yvette Vinton of Morriston, FL, Janine Charles of Orlando, FL, Liz Padgett of Ocala, FL, Lisa Walter of Morriston, FL.
While competition is healthy and a great test for horse and rider, the atmosphere in which is takes place is so important. Competitors and spectators alike enjoy the easy going, friendly feeling that surrounds Palm Equestrian Academy at Fox Grove Farm. Palm and Pittion-Rossillon are “proud to see riders who love and respect their horses and who have such a great passion to ride well!”
November 17 and December 7 are the final two competitions that will determine the series end champions as well as the All Around Champion. For more information, visit http://www.shoplynnpalm.com/november-17-2019.htm.
