You’re Invited! Join Up at “The Role of Nutrition in Equine Joint Health Interactive Event” with Cavalor® and KBC Horse Supplies

Cavalor®, world leader in equine nutrition for high performance horses is teaming up with KBC Horse Supplies to provide a night of celebration and education on April 11th at West Sixth Brewing Beer Garden, Lexington, KY. Together they will host an interactive panel discussion on the important topic of “The Role of Nutrition in Equine Joint Health.”

“This event will celebrate the new partnership between Cavalor and KBC Horse Supplies. KBC Horse Supplies has an outstanding reputation in and around the Lexington area. We are excited for this partnership as it allows our brand to be more widely available in Lexington, as well as available at the Kentucky Horse Park during competitions. Cavalor looks for a strong community presence when choosing a partner, and for us, KBC is the best choice!” said Libby Cifuni, Developing Territory Manager at Cavalor.

The topic of equine nutrition and the role it plays in equine joint health is a popular subject among the Kentucky horse community for good reason. It is well known that nutrition plays a critical role in the proper development of horses in their early years and is a key tool for joint health management throughout their sport careers. Experts Maarten Oosterlinck, DVM, PhD, ECVSMR & ECVS and Caroline Loos, PhD will share their vast knowledge on the topic of equine nutrition and its role in joint health. The event will include a Q & A session where attendees will enjoy an interactive discussion to further their knowledge of how best to keep their horses in top form through all developmental stages.

Dr. Oosterlinck’s daily clinical work is focused on equine orthopaedics, gait analysis, podiatry and surgery. In 2016, he concluded a study testing the preventative effects of Cavalor® ArtiTec on experimentally induced acute synovitis in horses (published in Equine Veterinary Journal, 2016). Dr. Oosterlinck is a highly regarded expert on a variety of equine orthopaedic and surgical topics, has been published in peer-reviewed journals and lectures regularly at international courses and conferences.

Dr. Loos, recent recipient of the European Equine Health and Nutrition Congress Free Communication Award, presented on the topic of “Consumption of a High Protein Meal Affects Insulin Responses in Horses with Insulin Dysregulation,” is a Post-Doctoral Scholar at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Loos has collaborated and worked closely with Cavalor® throughout her doctoral studies providing nutritional advice and leading the development and execution of scientific projects and continues to help Cavalor® develop nutritional products for optimal horse health.

This educational and fun event, will begin at 6 p.m. and run through 7:30 pm with goodie bags and a free drink for all attendees.
