Named a Heritage Competition by the United States Equestrian Federation in 2009, top equestrians from around the world compete for nearly $1 million in prize money. National champion hunter competitors, Olympic medalists, and scores of children and adult amateurs make up the field with over 1,500 horses entered each year.

Visitors to the Hampton Classic enjoy more than 80 boutique shopping experiences, a dozen International food options, daily activities in the children's area and Monday's annual Animal Adoption Day, featuring rescued dogs, cats and horses in search of a forever home.

The week culminates with the $300,000 DOHA.INC Grand Prix, one of the most coveted titles in the sport.

“The Hampton Classic is one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the U.S.,” said Elise Gaston Chand, the founder and host of Because of Horses. “We look forward to bringing the Because of Horses audience behind the scenes for stories and profiles of the people that make the Hampton Classic so exceptional.”
