Haygain Ltd., the UK-based, international equine health company, whose products resolve performance-limiting respiratory, gastric, and musculoskeletal conditions affecting horses, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Dunlap to its Board of Directors.
John continues a long and prestigious family history in the equestrian field. His father Moffat Dunlap was a World Championship team gold medalist, two-time Jump Canada Hall of Fame inductee, and a 20-year member of the Canadian Equestrian Show Jumping team. The family is equally prominent in the thoroughbred world as breeders of several classic winners, including winners of the Kentucky Derby, the Belmont Stakes, and the Irish Derby.
“I am very pleased to join this impressive organization,” said John Dunlap. “I know of no other international company of this class in which to participate that is a pure play on equine performance, health and wellness and I much look forward to assisting Haygain in its current expansion into North America. The impact that the company’s products have on the performance of horses is well established and widely endorsed by racing trainers around the world, Olympic Show Jumpers, Eventers and Dressage competitors internationally and, particularly, by respected veterinarians internationally.”
John is President of Moffat Dunlap Real Estate, the renowned equestrian real estate and countryside brokerage firm headquartered in King City, Ontario. He is a Past President of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, the largest indoor equestrian and agricultural exhibition in the world and a past Chairman of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Horse Show that put show jumping squarely in the mainstream spotlight.
Haygain partnered with the Royal Agricultural University in Great Britain and Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in the USA in developing its proprietary and best-in-class principal products. Haygain Hay Steamers are for the elimination of the debilitating contaminants in feedstock and are unique in achieving the temperatures required to kill mold, fungal spores, bacteria and other respirable particles in hay. The company’s best-in-class and equally acclaimed ComfortStall product benefits joint and respiratory health, is widely used in post-operative and exercise recovery, and results in substantial reductions in bedding and labor costs at equine facilities.
John brings an extensive corporate background to Haygain. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a B.Com from Queen's University. John has served on numerous private company and not-for-profit boards. He had a 10-year career with strategy consulting firm Boston Consulting Group in Toronto, Paris and New York. Currently, he is a Director of Southlake Regional Hospital and a Governor of St. Andrew’s College. John serves as a Director of The Dunlap Institute at the University of Toronto and is a Trustee of The Pebble Hill Museum and its 6000-acre campus.
Haygain formally introduced its line of high temperature hay steamers to North America in 2016. In 2017, Haygain purchased ComfortStall Orthopedic Sealed Flooring, expanding its mission of improving equine well-being and performance without medications. The company has distributors in over 20 countries and its products are used by elite equestrians and veterinarians worldwide.
