Merri Melde has just released the paperback version of Tales From The West: Four Seasons in the Owyhee Country. For more than two weeks after the e-book release on December 30, it perched at #1 in Amazon’s e-book category of New Releases in Nature.
Two early 5-star reviews indicate that readers will enjoy Tales From The West as much as her previous book, Tevis Cup Magic: Taking on the World’s Toughest 100 Mile Endurance Ride, which also reached #1 in New Releases in Horse Racing, #1 New Release in Horse Care, and #1 in Horse Racing after its paperback publication. Tevis Cup Magic was also named top book at the 2016 American Horse Publications Equine Media Awards.
“I was delighted with the milestone of having another number one-ranked self-published, self-promoted book, Tales From The West, on Amazon,” Melde said. “It just goes to show, compelling writing and personal creativity can trump traditional conventions of writing and book publishing. I control every aspect of the process, from concept to writing and photography to design to formatting, and for me it’s been a very satisfying and rewarding process.”
“Outstanding, informative read on life - past and present - in the high desert of Owyhee County, ID,” reads one review. “The descriptions in this book made me feel like I was really there,” reads another.
Melde is already at work on more book projects, including horse stories and travel stories. A travel-horse adventure to Egypt is nearing completion.
