Colorful Dressage Star Adiah HP Piaffes into Breyer’s Stable!

Bold and colorful, dressage star Adiah HP has been making a splash in the dressage arena, and will be adding her signature pizzazz to Breyer’s 2020 lineup!

A colorful Friesian Sport Horse mare, Adiah’s appearance does not match the image of the typical dressage mount. In a sport that’s as much about tradition as it is about precision, Adiah’s unique breeding (¾ Friesian and ¼ Dutch Warmblood) and chestnut pinto coat make her stand out as much as her natural talents do. For Adiah’s team, that’s part of the fun.

Bred and owned by Hidden Promises Sport Horses, Adiah is trained and showed by Jim Koford. Once you’ve seen this pair in action, it’s immediately clear that they’re finely matched in both skill and their happy, outgoing personalities. The effusive joy present in their performances is one of the elements that has made Adiah and Koford’s show ring appearances crowd favorites. While some horses may find an excited audience distracting, Adiah thrives in the spotlight, giving powerful performances that showcase her collection and unbeatable work ethic.

Perhaps the magic of this pair is sparked by their goal, which is atypical for a team performing at this level of competition. Instead of chasing titles, Koford says they’re performing for “no purpose but the joy of dressage.” This joyful purpose obviously works. Adiah and Koford first won the US Dressage Grand Prix Freestyle in 2017, and followed it up by winning it again in 2018 and 2019. They also won the Grand Prix Open Championship in 2018 and 2019.

Breyer is excited to help spread the joy of dressage with the release of Adiah’s Traditional (1:9 scale) portrait model. Sculpted by equine artisans and hand-painted in her likeness, Adiah’s Breyer model will be available late June at participating toy, gift, tack and agricultural stores nationwide, as well as
