When Amanda Shaffer started Ace High Strategic Marketing this past June, her goal was to help rodeo athletes present themselves in a professional light. She wanted to help them create their own brands that represented the hard work and dedication they devote to their respected events. As the whirlwind of the 2020 rodeo season comes to a conclusion, it is evident AHSM’s team of athletes’ hard work paid off. Every individual AHSM represents has qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
Ace High Strategic Marketing was born out of passion for the Western industry, lifestyle, and sports athletes. Shaffer’s career spans many aspects of marketing from racetracks to rodeos. During her time as the live events marketing manager for the Professional Bull Riders and the director of rodeo marketing at the Cowboy Channel, she noticed a gap in the industry between athletes and sponsors. A lack of formal structure made it difficult for athletes to compete professionally while fulfilling commitments to companies and sponsors.
Ace High Strategic Marketing proved to be the solution to this divide. Shaffer brings her experience and team of experts to each athlete with her full-service marketing company, which includes logo development, video campaigns, and social media management. The marketing materials and strategies developed for each athlete are professional standard and authentic to the industry. AHSM is setting a standard of accountability for athletes and companies alike so both succeed in their partnerships.
One athlete on the AHSM team is two-time NFR qualifier Kolton Schmidt. Schmidt says, “As my career progresses, I want to make sure I have a strong, solid relationship with my sponsors. Good companies work with good people, and I feel like Ace High represents me as an athlete and rodeo as a sport in a professional way, making it easy for myself and my sponsors to work as a team.”
Schmidt is just one of many athletes who utilizes the guidance and support from AHSM. Jackie Crawford, a 19-time WPRA world champion breakaway roper, says “Ace High has helped me to fulfill sponsor obligations, making me a more valuable asset to the companies that support me.”
In the world of professional rodeo, these partnerships between athletes and sponsors are invaluable, and AHSM is creating a structure in which both parties can expect and receive more from each other.
After a phenomenal first year, Ace High Strategic Marketing is far from slowing down. December brings exciting new challenges and opportunities for each athlete and their respective partners at the NFR, and AHSM is proud to work alongside these teams to reach the highest level of success for all involved.
Congratulations and best of luck to each member of the AHSM team competing at Globe Life Field in December!
