Barngoddess Enterprises Launches Canter to Confidence Masterclass

Barngoddess Enterprises announces the launch of Canter to Confidence, an on-line Masterclass designed to help Horsewomen 40+ regain their confidence in the saddle after an injury, physical impairment due to ageing, or simply time away from riding. The Masterclass was developed as a result of injuries sustained by course creator, Janet Winters, and the ensuing consequences.

“Ten years ago I fell off my horse and broke my neck. A life flight to the hospital saved my body but my confidence riding was shattered. I tried all the old advice…but nothing worked. I felt fear well up inside of me every time I put my foot in the stirrup. My horse felt it too…a recipe for disaster. After years of trial and error, I discovered how to make the necessary shifts  and regain my confidence, beating fear for good,” said Ms. Winters

Although Canter to Confidence, will help any rider, this course focuses on women 40+ to address issues unique to this group.

Oftentimes, women riders of a certain age don’t bounce back as easily as they did when they were younger, or at least fear that they won’t. They are aware of the devastating results that their injuries would have, not only for themselves, but for their families and their responsibilities overall.

There are other issues as well. The effects of ageing leave bodies more vulnerable to sustained conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis, which hinders flexibility and responsiveness. Time out of the saddle, raising children and, or, pursuing career goals leave some women feeling insecure after returning to riding. They don’t feel that they are the rider they “used to be.”

Canter to Confidence focuses on the rider’s mindset, uncovering the blind spots holding them back. The course offers strategies to get mentally and physically stronger, increasing security in the saddle. Students develop techniques to foster a  better understanding of the horse/ human relationship, thus building trust.

“It’s important to understand that regaining confidence isn’t about putting in time in the saddle or ‘showing the horse who’s boss’. It’s about mastering the right mindset, transforming physical and mental limitations, and interacting with the horse in a whole new way to strengthen the partnership. We are excited to offer this opportunity to help others fully enjoy riding their horses again!” Ms. Winters said.
