The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) has added two more Million Dollar Riders to their ranks, and Kimes Ranch is proud to endorsee both riders, Martin Muehlstaetter and Matt Mills. The NRHA was founded in 1966 and is dedicated to promoting and growing the reining horse industry worldwide. Matt Mills and Martin Muehlstaetter have both been a part of the NRHA Top 20 Professionals for many years, and now they can add Million Dollar Rider to their long lists of accomplishments.
About Matt Mills
Born and raised in Southern California, Matt began riding horses at an early age. He enjoyed a successful career as a youth rider, earning multiple championships throughout California in a variety of disciplines including western pleasure, horsemanship and trail. In 1996 he switched his focus to reining and a few years later established his own training operation in Scottsdale, Arizona. He trains and shows futurity and derby horses and also coaches several successful non-pro and youth riders.
One of his most memorable accomplishments was winning the 2006 USEF Open Reining Championship on Easy Otie Whiz in Lexington, Kentucky. With a career-high score of 231.5, that ride qualified him to be a member of Team USA that proudly brought home the gold medal from the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Aachen, Germany.
About Martin Muehlstaetter
Born in Villach, Austria, Martin began riding horses there at a young age before heading to the states. He now resides in Scottsdale, Arizona where he and his wife, Kim, own and operate Muehlstaetter Performance Horses.
Martin has many accomplishments within the NRHA including the 2014 Open NRBC Champion title.
