Kimes Ranch to Announce New Endorsee

Josie Conner to join #krjfamily at only 17

The sport of Breakaway Roping has exploded over that last few years, with incredible opportunities on the horizon for the athletes in rodeo’s fastest growing event. One of those athletes is Iowa, Louisiana’s own Josie Conner. At the young age of 17, Conner is already a regular in the winner’s circle. When it comes to roping, practice truly makes perfect, and unless you put in the work, you won’t reach the top. That work ethic and drive is central to Josie Conner’s success and Kimes Ranch is proud to announce her as their newest endorsee.

Josie comes from a family with deep roots in the rodeo industry. Her father, Jade Conner, was a calf roper, and her mom grew up rodeoing as well. Her parents noticed her talent for roping early, and she success- fully roped her first live calf at just 7 years old.

Josie is a very driven, dedicated and hard-working roper. When asked what her goals were, she had the following to say, “As far as actually setting goals to win specific events, that is not something I focus on. I am a firm believer that if I put in the time and take care of the process, the results will come.”

When asked about her most memorable wins, she had this to say, “Oklahoma’s Richest in Guthrie, Okla- homa and the San Angelo Roping Fiesta definitely stand out. These ropings were back-to-back weekends and most of the top ropers in the world were entered. They are special to me because it was the first-year roping breakaway was included.” Josie has her eyes set on joining The Professional Rodeo Cowboys As- sociation in 2022, where she hopes to rope at major events such as The American and the WCRA Majors.

Josie is joining a team of Kimes Ranch Endorsees that include NFR-Qualifiers, AQHA/APHA World Champions, and many more incredibly talented and driven individuals who are all committed to promot- ing the western industry.

“One of our goals at Kimes Ranch is to build a team of successful, hard working athletes across the many equine disciplines that share our values of family, integrity, and hustle. Josie is a perfect fit for our team and our vision,” notes Amanda Kimes. “We are thrilled to be a part of her journey and promising future in the rodeo industry.”
