Lace Up For The Kentucky Three-Day Event Virtual 4*/5* XC Course Challenge

BUCKEYE™ Nutrition and MARS Equestrian™ team up to bring eventing fans together this April

For equine enthusiasts around the world, April brings some of the biggest equestrian competitions, including the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event Presented by Mars Equestrian. Located in Lexington, KY, this high-level international competition hosts qualified horses and riders from all over the world to compete in the discipline of eventing, like a triathlon with three phases: dressage, cross-country and show jumping. In 2020, this highly anticipated event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the competition, which serves as an Olympic qualifying event, will go on without spectators present, leaving fans missing out on all the miles of walking, especially on Saturday cross-country day as they dash over the rolling hills of the Kentucky Horse Park to view each exciting cross-country fence, finding the perfect spot to see their favorite horse and rider tackle each tough obstacle. That’s why BUCKEYE™ Nutrition and MARS Equestrian™ have teamed up to put together a DIY solution-the Virtual 4*/5* XC Course Challenge!

Participants can simply choose either the 5* or 4* course length. The 5* course distance required to complete is 4 miles, the average of the length of the actual course in the past 5 years. The 4* will be required to complete 2.4 miles. Then, record and report the distance of the 4* or 5* course using any type of fitness app. Daily prizes will be awarded to those who complete the Virtual XC Course Challenge and share a photo Facebook and/or Instagram of their results or simply a photo taken while completing the virtual course (riding out on the trail, walking with your pet, a jogging selfie, whatever!) To be eligible for daily prizes, all photos must be accompanied by the hashtag #bestcoursewalkallyear, and include @buckeyenutrition, @marsequestrian and @kentuckythreedayevent

In addition, grand prizes will be awarded after the completion of the Virtual XC Course Challenge to the following divisions: Fastest Course Challenge male/female, 4*/5*, Course Challenge with a pet, 4*/5*, and most creative equine Course Challenge, 4*/5*. Prizes include exclusive Virtual XC Course Challenge items from Kentucky 3-Day Event, BUCKEYE™ Nutrition, MARS Equestrian™, Whistle®, Ethel M.® Chocolates, and many more!

The 4*/5* Virtual XC Course Challenge will run from Monday, April 5 through Sunday, April 25, 2021.
