Tuesday at 7 PM Eastern, you’re invited to watch live as #1 New York Times bestselling author Elizabeth Letts guests on StreamHorse TV’s new live video broadcast, Stable Social, hosted by Laura Kelland-May of Equestrian Skill Builders.
The Ride of Her Life is the triumphant true story of a Maine farmer named Annie Wilkins who rode across mid-1950s America, with only her horse Tarzan and her dog Depeche Toi, to fulfill her dying wish to see the Pacific Ocean.
StreamHorse TV’s Stable Social is a weekly equine variety show that broadcasts live on Tuesdays at 7 PM Eastern, “sparking useful, engaging conversations for horse enthusiasts across the equine space.”
Elizabeth is well-known for her bestsellers The Perfect Horse, The Daring U.S. Mission to Rescue the Priceless Stallions Kidnapped by the Nazis, and The Eighty-Dollar Champion: Snowman, the Horse That Inspired a Nation. Now, in The Ride of Her Life, Elizabeth delights equestrians once again.
In the author’s own words, “This is the story of a sixty-three year old woman from Maine who loses everything — her health, her farm – and decides she wants to see the Pacific Ocean just once before she dies. So she sets off from Maine (in November) hoping to ride to California. The story focuses on her incredible bond with her one (and later two) horses, and the little dog who goes along with her. The story is set in 1954 just as the interstate highway system is changing the landscape. Both of my previous books have been about advanced horsemen — the show jumper Harry de Leyer and the dressage rider Alois Podhajsky, but my heroine here probably is more relatable to the average person who loves her critters — wants to ride them and take care of them and considers them part of the family.”
Host Laura Kelland-May calls the StreamHorse TV community “inclusive, diverse, and welcoming.” StreamHorse TV Content Producer Natalie Mayrath says, “I’m looking forward to raising the bar on providing useful entertainment programming in the equine space, while learning from our human guests and the horses they love.”
You can watch Elizabeth discuss The Ride of Her Life – and a lot more – on Stable Social Tuesday, June 8, live at 7 PM Eastern on StreamHorse TV’s Facebook page and YouTube channels. If you miss the live broadcast, you can watch the replay, but why wait? Join in at 7 PM Eastern tomorrow!
