Corro Para Dressage Team Riders Are Tokyo Bound

Corro (corroshop.com) is excited to announce that U.S. Dressage athletes Sydney Collier (Para Dressage), Beatrice De Lavalette (Para Dressage), and Shayna Simon (Dressage) have joined its Team Rider program. All three riders are on their way to Tokyo to represent Team USA at the ParalympicsTM.

Corro Team Riders are equestrians at the top of their discipline, varying show jumping, dressage, reigning, polo, and beyond. They are people who, like the Corro team, are obsessed with horses. They celebrate the incredible bond between humans and horses and are dedicated to providing the very best care to their horses.

“We are thrilled to support these three spectacular athletes in their riding journeys and wish them all the success in Tokyo and beyond,” said Riesa Lakin, Head of Partnerships & Events. “They are all the perfect representation of what a Corro Team Rider stands for and it’s an honor for us to work with them.”

 Beatrice De Lavalette

Para Dressage

Beatrice, who originally grew up in France, started riding horses as soon as she was able to walk. At 12 years old, she started dressage and hunt seat equitation. At the age of 17, Beatrice was heading to the United States from Brussels, when a terrorist, standing right beside her, detonated a bomb. Beatrice lost both her legs and endured a tough recovery. While in recovery, her coach brought her horse DeeDee to visit Beatrice, and from then on, Beatrice was committed to returning back to the saddle—no matter what it took. Her perseverance has led to a successful career in the Para Dressage ring and has earned her a ticket to the ParalympicsTM in Tokyo to compete for Team USA.

Sydney Collier

Para Dressage

Sydney began riding at the age of 7 and quickly fell in love with horses. After being diagnosed with Woburn-Mason Syndrome and a series of health setbacks, Sydney was determined to get out of her wheelchair and return to riding. Through hard work and perseverance, Sydney represented the U.S. Para Dressage Team at the 2014 FEI World Equestrian GamesTM in Normandy, was named USEF Junior Equestrian of the Year the same year, placed third individually and was part of the winning team at the 2019 Para Dressage National Championships. Sydney will be the traveling reserve rider for Team USA in the upcoming ParalympicsTM in Tokyo with her mount All In One.

Shayna Simon

Dressage

Shayna is a top Grand Prix rider and trainer. She has received Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals on a horse she started herself and took all the way up the Grand Prix levels. She has competed in multiple Small Tour CDIs, ranking in the top 10 in the country. In addition to riding and competing, Shayna is passionate about teaching dressage, prioritizing each individual to find their own style of riding and having a keen understanding of the mechanics of riding. Shayna also trains Beatrice De Lavalette and will be traveling with her to Tokyo to help Bea as she represents Team USA at the ParalympicsTM.
