EQUUS Film & Arts Fest will stay “Virtual” in 2021 with a “Live” Winnie Awards Event on Sunday November 14, 2021, available on EQUUS TV. The fest will go back to its roots nine years ago in St Charles, Illinois for interviews with filmmakers, authors and artist and a visit to the Arcada Theater, with an interview with Ron Onesti, where it all started in 2013.
For the “Live” portion of the fest we will be hosting interviews with EQUUS Film & Arts Fest alumni. The weekend events will be hosted in the beautiful Equestrian Events Stables event and party venue located in Maple Park, Illinois. The Winnie Awards will stream on Sunday November 14, 2021, after 7:30 pm EST on EQUUS TV, available to viewers around the world for free on all your devices and Smart TV’s.
The EQUUS Team of Diana De Rosa (Press Link) just back from the Tokyo Summer Olympics and Equitana, Julianne Neal (JA Media) back from filming the first part of the Mustang Discovery Ride through Delaware and Maryland, and Lisa Mae DeMasi, EQUUS journalist, will be joined by EQUUS TV, CEO, John Barlett and Jacqueline Taylor, EQUUS TV video journalist. All will join Founder/Director Lisa Diersen in St Charles for the “Live” part of the fest.
EQUUS Film & Arts fest is proud to host the new documentary from Executive Producer, Robert Redford, “The Mustangs: America’s Wild Horses”. On the schedule will be a tribute to Bernice Ende, the Lady Long Rider, who passed away earlier this fall, and a screening of her documentary from filmmaker, Wren Winfield. “Cowboys: A Documentary Portrait”, from filmmakers Bud Force and John Langmore, brought to you by Creative Producer, Felicitas Funke. “The Fall” from UK based filmmaker, Nathan Horrocks, tells the story of one Steeplechase jockeys’ journey back from a life changing fall, addressing mental health issues in racing. Horses from Iceland to healing horses in Texas will all gallop into the fest this November.
Even in a year with so many different venues closed, the filmmakers were able to produce amazing documentaries and feature films! We will be screening over 40 film submissions, 50 plus, EQUUS Literary Corral entries, and some exciting new podcast entries. The return of the EQUUS Art & Photography contest has beautiful entries from around the world! We are looking forward to sharing the content world-wide November 12 – 21, 2021 on the Film Festival Flix Platform, with our partner, Benjamin Oberman, in L.A. Tickets will be available November 1, 2021.

The Mustang Discovery Ride will take us on a journey across the United States, coast to coast, on American Mustangs. Riders, Hannah Catalino and Lisanne Fear, will cover 12 states taking 12 months, with the assistance of their support crew. Starting in Delaware in September and ending their journey on the California coast next year. Both girls are trainers who have taken part in the MHF Trainer Incentive Program (TIP). Hannah travels the world as a Mustang Ambassador and trainer doing “Wild Horse Workshops” & Liberty Training Clinics.
