Teton Ridge Teams up with Trailblazing Barrel Racing Champions

Powerhouse quartet of Sherry Cervi, Lisa Lockhart, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi and Hailey Kinsel to elevate TEAM:TR

As western culture brand Teton Ridge continues to blaze trails in preserving and elevating America’s western way of life and classic western sports, the dedicated entity announced today that dynamic barrel racing champions Sherry Cervi, Lisa Lockhart, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi and Hailey Kinsel will join TEAM:TR.

The skilled quartet of athletes will add to the already robust TEAM:TR collection of champion athletes and ambassadors that spans multiple disciplines in the western space. Earlier this year Teton Ridge welcomed extraordinary talent in the reining and reined cow horse disciplines when announcing accomplished horsemen Andrea Fappani, Corey Cushing and Todd Bergen as the inagural representatives of TEAM:TR.

“Teton Ridge is a brand built around the core values of America’s western culture,” said Teton Ridge Sports Executive Vice President Ellen Newberg. “TEAM:TR is a fundamental component of our sports strategy; celebrating and elevating the remarkable athletes, whose pursuit of excellence and embodiment of champion-caliber mentality through their journey of hard work, sacrifice and dedication to their sport, make the events we all love possible. The innovative TEAM:TR approach creates a platform for athletes from different disciplines to work together in order to strengthen and broaden western sports on a global level.”

Recognized as one of the top competitors in barrel racing and possessing four world titles, Sherry Cervi’s (Marana, Arizona) professional career has spanned just under 30 years and resulted in an industry-leading nearly $3.5 million in earnings.

Rocketing onto the rodeo leaderboards early in her career, she collected her first Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) Reserve World Champion title in 1994. From there Cervi’s list of astounding accolades has included being a 19-time Wrangler National Finals (WNFR) qualifier, clinching an impressive four world titles (1995/ 1999/ 2010/ 2013), winning the WNFR average Champion three different times and being a 13-time qualifier for the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo (RNCFR).

Whether competing in the arena or working with her horses, Cervi attributes her success to hard work and a laser-like focus.

Showcasing that same resounding focus on success, Lisa Lockhart (Oelrichs, South Dakota) began riding horses at the mere age of six and has made her mark on the western sports world ever since.

Beginning her professional barrel racing career in 1993 when she joined the WPRA, the accomplished athlete has to date earned more than $2.8 million in the arena.

Lockhart has qualified for the WNFR 15 times over the years. Additionally, she is a two-time Reserve World Champion, two-time WNFR average Champion, four-time Canadian Champion, 2019 RNCFR and has won the richest single-day rodeo in the world – The American – twice thus far in her still exceptionally prosperous career.

Her consistency in finishing among the Top 5 in the world standings year after year, added to her knowledge, athleticism and extreme equine prowess makes Lockhart a perfect addition to TEAM:TR.

A native Texan, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi (Lampasas, Texas) learned the intricacies of running barrels from her father at a very young age and has showcased the same passion and dedication every moment since.

Splashing onto the rodeo scene soon after becoming the barrel racing champion of both the Texas High School Finals and National High School Rodeo Association in 2002, Pozzi secured the title of 2003 College Southern Region champion during her time at Texas A&M University. Soon after she won the 2003 WPRA Rookie of the Year title for barrels and became the first-ever rookie in the WPRA standings to qualify for the WNFR, finishing seventh in the world.

Currently sitting in the No. 9 spot in the world standings for 2021, Pozzi is no stranger to topping the leaderboard in all she does. The two-time world champion (2007/2009) has collected many accolades over the years including being a 15-time WNFR qualifier, two-time WNFR average champion, two-time RNCFR Champion and much more.

With career earnings topping over $2.6 million Pozzi strives for excellence each time she rides into an arena.

Fellow Texan, Hailey Kinsel (Cotula, Texas) has sought the same level of distinction since her professional career debut in 2015. As one of the most talked-about young athletes over the past decade, her superior athletic ability is equally matched by her knowledge and exquisite display of horsemanship.

Sitting in the No. 1 spot in the world standings as 2021 rolls to a close, Kinsel and famed equine partner “Sister” have genuinely set a new bar in the barrel racing community. With more than $2 million in career earnings, Kinsel has qualified for WNFR five times, holds three world titles (2018, 2019, 2020), was the 2020 WNFR Average Champion and was the event champion at The American a record three times.

Known for her dedication and drive both in the arena and out, Kinsel spends her time when not competing training her horses – a passion she shares with her mother.

Teton Ridge will further expand TEAM:TR to feature additional disciplines including top-caliber professionals in the cutting industry, roughstock disciplines and more.
