A Parade of Champions with a Twist – Three Firsts Coming Up at Fairfield

The EQUUS Foundation will be showcasing adoptable equines at the Fairfield County Hunt Club June Horse Show in Westport, Connecticut on Thursday, June 23 at 4pm. “It will be a parade of champions with a twist,” said Valerie Angeli, EQUUS Foundation VP of Engagement. “Horses thrill us as athletes, but they are also amazing teachers, companions and healers. All horses are champions and need our protection.”

1 CHAMPAGNE & ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Guests attending the Champagne & Ice Cream Social hosted by Fairfield Equine Associates on behalf of the EQUUS Foundation and the $10,000 Welcome Jumper Stake will have the opportunity to meet and greet adoptable treasures and learn more about them from representatives of EQUUS Foundation Guardian, Rising Starr Horse Rescue.

The Welcome Reception is complimentary to EQUUS Foundation friends and donors, Fairfield County Hunt Club members and horse show exhibitors, trainers, attendants, and their family members attending the show. Advance reservations are required. Please RSVP here.

2 MEET AND GREET

Charlie and Georgie are just two of Rising Starr’s adoptable equines. “They were once wild and now they are seeking forever homes,” said Angeli.

Charlie is a 10 year old, who was born in the wild, adopted from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and then was sold to a kill buyer. Rescued from the Bowie Kill Pen in Texas, Charlie received the care and rehabilitation he needed from a local rescue before he came to Rising Starr for training and adoption.

Only two years old, Georgie, a formerly wild burro from Arizona, is progressing very well with his training and socializing. Georgie and Charlie are bonded and looking for a home together.
