Headlining this special edition is an extensive illustrated equestrian biography that documents Queen Elizabeth’s life in the saddle beginning in 1931 and ending in 2022.

This issue also reveals the creation and publication of the extensive Shakespeare Equestrian Collection.

It took more than five years to complete this intensive examination that documents how horses deeply influenced the personal and professional life of England’s most famous author, William Shakespeare.

Her Majesty was the first to inspect this treasure trove. Queen Elizabeth acknowledged the importance of the SEC while she was resting at Balmoral Castle three weeks before she passed away.

The 300-plus page SEC contains an outstanding collection of academic articles and a groundbreaking study that poses the question, “Was William Shakespeare a Long Rider?”

To be or not to be, a Long Rider, who knew?

In keeping with the celebration of all things royal, the renowned English equestrian historian Dr. Paula Sells wrote a fascinating article revealing the history of the royal stables.

The entire December publication of Horse & Rider Living is unprecedented and we at HRL hope that you enjoy our year-end contribution to the equestrian world; and thank you to those participating in our ever-expanding magazine!

Happy Holidays,
