Happy Christmas, Holiday Hugs (Virtual!) and a Healthy 2026 From Nikki Alvin-Smith

From Nikki Alvin-Smith

As the holidays get going and the season of goodwill spreads it wings across the skies I’d like to send good wishes and my thanks out to everyone in the AHP community.

To the fabulous folks on the AHP Board well done! Throughout the year you’ve kept this wonderful association that is the AHP moving forward in the media marketplace and continue to provide important support to the equine industry. With a special mention to Amy Sales and her team at Easter Associates for their keen attention to detail and patient assistance.

To my fabulous PR/Marketing clientele past and present, thank-you for entrusting your brand and business to me. I sincerely appreciate the opportunities you have provided to me and much enjoyed the collaboration and vision we have shared. You can always count on my loyalty and support.

I offer my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported my wordsmith efforts and in particular been kind enough to purchase a copy of my first novel The Dutchess of Chadwick, which was published in March 2025. Horses and High Society are the backdrop for this tale of Transatlantic love in the Gilded Age, and so while not strictly an equestrian work its feel-good factor and authentically written horsey scenes I hope carry you along. A book makes a welcome gift so if you haven’t picked up a copy already please enjoy this 20% savings offer on a signed, Limited Edition print copy.

Many AHP members have also helped sustain human-authored works from my studio through feature article purchases and publication of my press release works at their magazines and on their social media platforms. I am particularly grateful to those that continue to share my ‘Series’ press releases such as the Horizon Structures Presents Series and those of the past like the Grand Meadows Cares Series.

I’d also like to thank everyone that has supported and continues to support Catskill Horse magazine. Now in its 14th year of digital publication, the Merry Band at the Catskill Horse provide educational content to over 165,000 horse aficionados per month. A special shout out to Horizon Structures and Trafalgar Square Books, who have been long time advertisers of this all-volunteer magazine and community resource. Catskill Horse now encompasses readers up and down the East Coast and beyond.

What’s Coming in 2026?

The publishing industry is in a huge state of flux and will likely continue to push writers out in the cold. I hope that AHP members will continue to support authors by hiring companies like my Horse in a Kilt Media, that provide human-authored thought leadership rich, creative assets for use across their platforms.

In line with the changing literary landscape, in 2026 my website NikkiAlvinSmithStudio.com will be undergoing a renovation to make it easier for clients to shop online for unique feature articles, professional grade photographs and art from my studio. I invite AHP members to give it a look and see what’s available.

Also coming in 2026 is the release of my next novel, The Bonkers English Village – The Adventures of Reverend Bloat. This title is a humorous whacky tale of the insane life of the blundering Bloat designed to bring a laugh to the lips and a refreshing respite for its readers.

I love to write. It’s what I do. And being able to realize my passion over these many years has been a blessing in more ways than I can share here. And I’m truly thankful to all of you for helping make it happen.

I wish you and yours a festive and peaceful holiday season making happy memories with those you love and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2026 both personally, and of course including your four-legged furry friends and for your equine-related businesses.
