Media & Marketing Coordinator

The Pyramid Society is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and team-oriented Media & Marketing Coordinator who is eager to oversee existing promotional activities of the Society, including membership and major events, as well as develop dynamic new initiatives to further the Society’s mission and vision.

This position will require demonstrated skills in public relations, marketing and advertising, as well as concept development, design, and execution of targeted digital, visual and print media promotional campaigns.  The Media & Marketing Coordinator is expected to be a proficient public representative of the Society through all brand channels. 


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Comprehensive public relations & marketing skills
  • Managements skills applicable to handling multiple projects
  • Proven skills and experience in the following areas:
    • Targeted publicity campaigns
    • Social media marketing and management strategies
    • Advertising solicitation, fund-raising and direct marketing
    • Communication, writing and journalism
    • Event planning and management
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to oversee graphic design concept and execution in print, web and large format


  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite and Constant Contact.
  • Experience with Sage ACT!
  • Experience with Drupal or similar CMS platforms


Bachelor’s Degree with an accredited university, preferably in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing, or 5+ years commensurate experience in a related field.

Candidates with equine industry and experience, particularly within the Arabian horse community, will be given preference. Experience with graphic design also highly desirable. 


The Pyramid Society office hours are Monday – Friday, 9-5.  Employees are expected to maintain regular office hours and additional hours as required for completion of designated responsibilities.  In particular, extended hours are required leading up to the annual Egyptian Event.

Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.  Position includes health insurance benefits, IRA matching contribution program, vacation and sick leave as well as bonuses based on performance in solicitation of advertising and sponsorships.

Candidates with required qualifications may qualify to work virtually after employee orientation; however some travel and on-location coordination with the Executive Director and other employees will be expected.

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Organizational Overview

The Pyramid Society was founded in 1969 with a goal of preserving and perpetuating Straight Egyptian Arabian horses – a highly esteemed bloodline group comprised of approximately 10% of the global breed population.  For nearly 50 years The Pyramid Society has devoted its efforts to promoting these unique horses through innovative activities and educational programs, and remains one of the most respected Arabian horse breeders’ organizations in the world.

The Egyptian Event, sponsored by The Society, is the world’s largest showcase of the Straight Egyptian Arabian horse.  Celebrating its 38th year in 2018, this event is one of the longest running shows to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park and features the finest Egyptian Arabians competing for substantial prize monies.  Social and educational elements are also important features of the Egyptian Event.
