Job Description: Creative Copywriter

Location: Louisville, KY

This is a new full-time, on site position for the company, designed to reassign duties currently performed informally by existing personnel to someone trained and experienced in those areas, as well as to add to company skills. This position is responsible for developing strategic creative content, writing and editing across multiple media channels including print, web, television/video and radio, social and earned media (PR). Must be able to navigate initial conversations with clients to understand the business, their challenges and desires to translate into viable solutions. Must be a strong presenter who can share ideas and rationale, aligning concepts to the creative brief and strategic imperatives. Should promote cooperation, collaboration and positive working relationships among all team members. Please submit up to three writing samples, so we can get an idea of your best work. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes guidance from creative briefs, teams with designers to develop, execute, present and rationalize concepts based on brand and business requirements
  • Leverages all resources to ensure the best possible solution for the business/brand in consideration of the specific ask by the client
  • Consistently builds and maintains product knowledge for each project/assignment
  • Understands and applies necessary content development approach based on media channels - print vs. web vs. social vs. email, etc
  • Ability to work with legal/compliance for approvals and quickly adjust any required edits
  • Edits and proofreads copy as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with concentration in English, journalism, communications, or equivalent experience combined with a strong and diverse creative portfolio
  • Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in an advertising agency environment or provide a strong demonstration of collaborative and strategic thinking
  • Experience supporting a technically-focused product marketing organization in translating product features into meaningful customer benefits and desired value proposition
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C
  • Ability to plan strategically and developed broad-based programs
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Interest in design, animal husbandry, animal health and agriculture a plus
