Digital Content Editor, Equine Group


Essential Functions

  • Assist the Publisher and Editorial team on the development of timely, entertaining content; posting regularly to multiple social media accounts
  • Write, assign and edit content for publication/web site/social media
  • Writing SEO-value headlines for posts and selecting appropriate photos
  • Recruit other talented content generators for multimedia initiatives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with major players in the business
  • Work with Ad Sales to create branded content and revenue opportunities
  • Act as Editor-in-Chief’s proxy when needed
  • Be an Equine subject matter expert who can coordinate with Marketing, Ad Sales and IT departments
  • Attend shows as needed
  • This position is eligible to work from any location


Competencies and Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience as an Editor at a notable content provider preferred
  • Established knowledge of the current media environment and the Equine media/competitors
  • Must be a passionate horse enthusiast (any discipline)
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
  • Documented excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge and experience with all social media platforms, CMS, and Photoshop
  • Must be self-motivated, goal-driven, and demonstrate ability to work well alone or as part of a team


Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000 to $55,000/year


  • Relevant: 4 years (Preferred)
  • Horse related: 2 years (Preferred)
