Educational Video Camera Operator

We are looking for a full-time Educational Video Camera Operator to help create and add content to our already vast library of Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) courses. We currently have seven separate platforms spanning multiple facets of the equine industry that provide online education for beginner riders, riding tips & tricks, and expert training to thousands of monthly subscribers. This role would require performing all the technical aspects of filming including shooting, lighting, sound, and media management as well as performing post-production processes such as organization, string-outs, and some editing work.

A big part of our success is being able to turn around high-quality videos quickly so this position requires a versatile, self-motivated, and resourceful individual who can wear many hats and complete projects in an efficient manner. There will be opportunity in this position for occasional creative commercial and documentary shooting. This position requires frequent travel for filming and occasionally working weekends and long production days.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Performing all the technical aspects of filming including camera, sound, and lighting
  • Shooting in a creative way to help build emotion, increase tension, and deliver greater payoff of the message for the audience
  • Continue to build and grow our many education platforms by providing innovative ways to create content through filming.
  • Managing many moving pieces in a high-pressure environment with the calmness of a seasoned professional
  • Multitask on a variety of projects
  • Develop lines of communication and relationships with various Equine Network departments to ensure efficient execution of projects at the highest quality
  • Create content while ensuring consistency by following company brand, quality, and legal standards
  • Directing talent on set to deliver their best performances and carry out the necessary emotion and information required while also keeping the production on time
  • Giving creative feedback to scripts in pre-production to help streamline productions while bringing the vision of the script to life in an emotionally moving way when necessary.
  • Position would require frequent travel

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Experience filming horses and educational videos (preferred)
  • Knowledge of a variety of cameras, lighting, and audio equipment
    Background in digital media, cinematography, film studies or related field
  • Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite with moderate to high experience in Premiere
  • Ability to deliver videos in multiple formats and strategize best practices for space management, reviewing content, and final delivery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on a wide variety of projects simultaneously
  • Ability to learn quickly and be a team player
  • Skilled in handling a faster output without sacrificing quality
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment
  • Ability to transport yourself and gear to and from local shoots and airport

WORK LOCATION: REMOTE/HOME

We are in search of a team member who is ready to dive into a fast-paced, demanding environment. This is a salaried, full-time position with benefits and the hours that make our products sing.

  • To keep up with the EN’s work group and the varying events, remote work does require better-than-average internet connectivity. Employees are expected to be able to participate in regular chats, on-screen meetings and calls without notable interruptions, often while handling large file transfers.
  • As a well-versed member of the video production team, as noted above, it should be understood that this position includes weekend work and travel.
