L.A. Sokolowski Hosts Tampa Bay Tan Talk Radio’s The Chapters Rap July 27 with Special Guests from Worlds of Barrel Racing, Horseback Adventures, Hollywood Filmdom, Special Olympics

Tune in, turn on and ride out with The Original Equinista, L.A. Sokolowski, when the award-winning interviewer fills in live this Wednesday evening, 8:00-9:00 pm, for host Steve Vaccaro on The Chapters Rap: Where Unity and Diversity Meet, One Chapter at a Time, on Tampa Bay, Florida’s Tan Talk Radio Network, TanTalkNetwork.com, FM 104.3 and 106.3, AM1400, 1340, 1350; and on Facebook and YouTube at The Chapters Rap with Steve Vaccaro.

“I’m playing Chelsea Handler to Steve’s Jimmy Kimmel, and looking forward to getting to know Tampa Bay listeners and introducing to them to four unique horsewomen,” L.A. says. “The industry influencers joining me on the live call-in show, (727) 441-3000, will be Stacey Adams, Elizabeth Kaye McCall, Lauren Reischer, and Audra Tyson.”

Agent of Hollywood horsedom, author of The Tao of Horses: How Horses Guide Us on Our Spiritual Path, and award-winning journalist and media consultant Elizabeth Kaye McCall joined Ashley Avis, screenwriter for Black Beauty starring Kate Winslet, to discuss filmmaking at the Equus International Film Festival in Montana, had a guest spot on the international podcast See’rs, Be-ers, Knowers & Do-ers, and joined an AHC webinar panel, Putting Horses in the Public Eye, with Kansas Carradine of CAVALIA (Liz was the original horse industry liaison for the international equestrian spectacle and integral to making its performances a household word).

When Special Olympics-NY associate director of development Lauren Reischer was born, she was diagnosed with spastic diplegia/diparesis cerebral palsy. She describes her legs as so tightly twisted together it was like “a mermaid’s tail.” But this is no children’s fable. She captained her Brown University equestrian team (and saved its varsity status), was named a Grand Champion at Long Island’s prestigious Hampton Classic, and is a therapeutic riding advocate and biracial equestrienne who, in refusing to be a statistic has become an inspiration, most recently creating the first-ever show jumping series for Special Olympians, the inaugural SONY Summer Series at the Saratoga WIB Spectacular, HITS-Saugerties Horse & Pony Show, and The Hampton Classic. “We all have things that dis-able us in life,” she says. “Riding never stops being therapeutic.”

Stacey Adams is a travel expert, hiker and rider who has worked in the adventure travel business since 2003, and is the president of Active Riding Trips, the premier provider of more than 70 curated equestrian experiential vacations a year to over a dozen getaways around the world. Stacey’s commitment to only the best experiences for avid horseback riders includes personally inspecting every trip (lucky her), to assure the best in services, personal comfort and amenities. One of her popular dressage vacation packages, to Monte Velho Equo Resort in Portugal, was recently featured in USDF Connection magazine.

AQHA Firecracker Circuit Open All-Around barrel racing champion Audra Tyson of Tyson Colt Company in Fort McCoy, outside of Ocala, doesn’t let words like “can’t” or “won’t” enter the mindsets of her students or herself, and the results speak for themselves through students like Haylee and Heaven Crosby. In 2015, Heaven became the first girl from Marion County to serve as the Miss Rodeo Florida Sweetheart and, at age 10, carry an American flag at the gallop at the National Circuit Finals. Haylee was named Miss Silver Spurs 2018-19. Audra has been by the side of her top barrel horse, Firen LaJolla (aka ‘the Hemi’) as he recovers from kissing spine surgery.

“Avid podcast fans listen to radio 65 minutes more than most Americans,” says L.A., citing July 2022 statistics from Buzzsprout.com. “And nearly 30% of U.S. adults listen to podcasts while driving. The multi-platform opportunity The Chapters Rap offers is an irresistible chance to reach fresh, diverse new audiences and introduce them to how many different chapters the horse world has to write.”
