Singer/Songwriter/hippie chic cowgirl Templeton Thompson Premiering New Video In Australia

Singer/Songwriter/hippie chic cowgirl Templeton Thompson’s new video will premiere on Monday, July 25, on Countrytown countrytown.com.au (Australia).

The song, the title track from her new release, Get Back Up, follows Thompson’s recent songwriter success in Australia where she has scored multiple hits she wrote with and for other artists.

“We’re so excited and so grateful to be premiering our new video with Countrytown & couldn’t be more thankful for the love & support from all of our friends in the Australian Country music community,” Thompson said. “And we’re also so grateful to HandsOn Gloves for partnering with us on our video!!”

The new video was shot near Thompson’s Middle Tennessee home at Frog Pond Hall, a ca. 1905 one-room wood clapboard building that once served as a church. “And part of it was filmed out in our own backyard, pasture and in our very generous neighbors’ pasture too,” Thompson said. With support from HandsOn Gloves, Thompson co-produced the video with husband Sam Gay, who also shot and edited the video. The video also features Thompson’s beloved horses, Jane and Beau. “Jane is a 2-time Breyer Horses model, both of our precious, beloved BIG AQHA kids are featured in several of our videos,” Thompson said. “Me and Sam and our baby girl Jane premiered our girls & horses music video at Breyerfest in 2009, if you look for them, sometimes you can still find Jane’s Breyer Horses model out there on the world wide web!”

“Templeton’s music is so fantastic,” said famed broadcaster Devon O’Day on her acclaimed podcast Main Street Nashville. “I listen to her on a regular basis. It’s like a motivational sermon and an uplifting moment in your day!”

Over the past year, Nashville-based Thompson and her producer / songwriter partner Gay are riding a wave of success on Australian Country Radio with 12 singles, including 10 #1s. The couple recently inked a sub-publishing agreement with ORiGiN Music Publishing in Sydney, Australia for their Connected at the Hit Songs and BoatPony Music catalogs.

In addition to their hits in Australia, Thompson’s and Gay’s songs have been recorded by the likes of Reba McEntire, Little Texas, Montgomery Gentry, Ricky Van Shelton and Jo Dee Messina, among others. Individually and collectively, their songs have been used in such films as Dr. Dolittle 3 and the Lifetime Christmas movie, Every Other Holiday. Gay also wrote and produced the soundtrack for the film, Dogs On The Inside. Thompson and Gay are also the music behind Sundance Award winning filmmaker Cindy Meehl’s 7 Clinics with Buck Brannaman DVD series. Meehl Directed & Executive Produced Thompson’s 2013 When I Get That Pony Rode music video.

“To listen to someone who has both country soul & spirit in her voice – it’s magical. Yes, there’s a pinch of Reba McEntire & Dolly Parton that are evident in the attractive Templeton Thompson’s soprano, but she’s an original,” wrote John Apice for Americana Highways.

Thompson’s new album, Get Back Up, was produced by Gay and famed Australian producer Rod McCormack, and is available for download at: templetonthompson.com/getbackup
