Achieve Equine’s “It’s About the Horse®” Winners

Achieve Equine’s “It’s About the Horse®” campaign is well underway, and the January and February winners have been posted. Initiated as place to share our equine partner’s voices and stories, the spotlight is on Boston Flagship (“Bruin”) and Zephyr Wind (“Worth Z Wait” or simply “Z”).

Z, owned and ridden by Chloe and Jean Laurent, began his career in thoroughbred racing and successfully transitioned in the hunter/jumper discipline. Since Chloe first put her eyes the self-described “scrawny 4-year-old racehorse”, Z has now celebrated his 9-year anniversary with Chloe and Jean. Z “picked Chloe to be his person”, and, receiving multiple division championship wins, is shining in his second career.

Owned and ridden by Bennet Adkins, Bruin has competed in dressage at this past year’s Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium, presented by Thoroughbred Charities of America after a short racing career. The athletic gelding “with expressive movement and demeanor” transitioned seamlessly from his past racing career into the sport horse world. Of his seamless transition, Bennet said it best in her nomination: “The amount of care Boston Flagship’s previous connections gave him was evident since the beginning! The connections did more than their due diligence to set him up for success in his future post-racing career and ensure he had a soft landing. I’m honored to have been trusted with showing him his second career!”

Monthly winners have a spotlight on Achieve Equine’s website, along with being featured on social media and to the company’s email audience. For more information about the campaign and to view the featured horses, visit https://www.achieveequine.com/its-about-the-horse/.
