Equine veterinarians and veterinary students will convene in San Diego, Calif., Nov. 29–Dec. 3, for the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ (AAEP) 69th Annual Convention amid a sea change in the equine practice landscape in which inventive and sustainable models replace “business as usual” approaches.
The convention is the most comprehensive continuing education event dedicated to equine practice. Between a robust educational program, broad slate of networking and social events, and 300-exhibitor trade show spotlighting the newest technologies, services and products for practice, attendees will embrace the opportunity to succeed in new ways by acquiring novel solutions and professional connections that foster healthier patients, practices and lifestyles.
More than 130 hours of CE from many of the top minds and talents within the profession will be offered in key clinical areas such as lameness, rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, reproduction and podiatry. Additionally, on Nov. 29, practitioners can learn a new technique or refresh their skill set during small-group clinical skills labs devoted to colic, reproduction, image-guided injection techniques, venograms and hoof casts.
Beyond practical educational, equine veterinarians will strengthen existing, and form new, bonds with colleagues across the profession at a variety of social events. The calendar of events is bookended by the Nov. 29 Welcome Reception, sponsored by Contura Vet, and the Zoetis-sponsored After Party celebration on Dec. 2.
Practitioners unable to join their colleagues in San Diego may participate virtually through on-demand access to all educational sessions as well as live access to a dozen Table Topics being reoffered via Zoom Dec 11–15. On-demand viewing will be available by Dec. 18, and CE hours from on-demand sessions can be earned through March 31, 2024. Those who register for the live convention will receive access to on-demand sessions at no additional cost.
