Make An End of Year Gift to Brooke USA Foundation

~Help People and Working Equines in Need Achieve a Better Life~

No one should have to choose between feeding their families and caring for their working horses, donkeys, or mules. Unfortunately, this is the reality for many of those living in vulnerable communities across the world and right here in the United States. In fact, 100 million of the poorest people on earth depend on 600 million working equines for the most routine tasks – from fetching water from miles afar and taking produce to market to transporting children to school and delivering firewood to cook.  With the skyrocketing prices of basic goods, people in need simply cannot keep up, and most of the time, their working equines also suffer.

As the year ends and during this Season of Giving, Brooke USA recognizes the many supporters and friends, who through their compassionate giving year-round, help families in low and middle-income countries all over the world who lack access to water, experience poor quality education, if any,  and are subject to the ever-increasing prices of basic goods. These same families rely on working horses, donkeys, and mules for transport, agricultural production, and other income-generating activities. These animals work alongside their owners in some of the most challenging environments on earth such as brick kilns, construction sites and slate and coal mines.

With better equine healthcare and husbandry some of these families can enjoy an improved quality of life and offer economic sustainability to their loved ones. The health and welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules has a direct impact on human livelihoods. At Brooke USA we know that when working equines thrive so do the families that depend on them, and when an equine suffers their owners do, too.

Thanks to the generosity of its contributors, Brooke USA funds programs that support working equines through community training and education. During the Holiday season, we are reminded of how fortunate we are and how a little help can go a long way. Donor support means that Brooke USA can continue to aid thousands of people each year who need so much (yet so little).

Thanks to supporters and friends across the country, Brooke USA can prevent animal suffering and protect human livelihoods. This is why during this Season of Giving, Brooke USA is asking friends and supporters to make an additional one-time, year-end donation to help the organization meet the immediate needs of people and animals living in deplorable conditions. “Just imagine the life-giving difference one donation at the end of the year can make,” said Emily Dulin, CEO of Brooke USA. “Life continues to be difficult for far too many in the world and those of us who can ‘give kindness’ and ‘give generosity’ can make a huge difference,” added Dulin.

For the people Brooke USA serves, their working equines are the backbone of communities and their best means of making a living. Without healthy working horses, donkeys, and mules, they would not be able to build better futures for themselves and their families.

As people give to Brooke USA during the holidays, they are  making a worldwide difference today, the next year and beyond. To make that extra gift at the end of the year, please visit www.BrookeUSA.org/mydonation before December 31, and help a family with a working equine in need.
