On Friday May 16 during the AHP Equine Media Conference in Dallas, Kendall Bierer was presented with the 2025 AHP Equine Media NextGen Award trophy by Barrie Reightler, AHP President.
The AHP Equine Media NextGen Award recognizes up-and-coming working equine media professionals who have made a significant impact in advancing equine media while upholding journalistic excellence, integrity and trust in a competitive communications world. This distinguished award is a unique opportunity to publicly recognize young equine media professionals whose commitment, dedication, and service have made their careers shine above the rest.
Kendall was nominated for this award by Emily Marquez-Dulin. She was selected by a committee of media professional experts who reviewed and evaluated the nominations. Nominees are not required to be AHP members; however, the nominator must be an AHP member or an employee of an AHP member. Nominees must be between 25 and 35 and reside in the U.S. or Canada.
Kendall has been an invaluable asset to the Brooke USA Foundation for the past nine years, contributing to the organization’s impressive growth from a $200,000 charity to a well-respected national entity with a $2 million budget. Her contributions have spanned various areas, including event planning, communications, graphic design, and major donor relations. Kendall’s leadership and work ethic have allowed her to expand the foundation’s reach into seven key equestrian markets across the country (Wellington, FL; Ocala, FL; Southern Pines, NC; Tryon, NC; Aiken, SC; Lexington, KY; Northern California, and Dallas/Fort Worth, TX). She is a multi-talented professional, excelling as a strategist, writer, speaker, graphic designer, event planner, and relationship builder.
As the Donor Relations Officer at Brooke USA, Kendall manages the organization’s major donor pipeline, ensuring financial sustainability through securing significant gifts. In addition to overseeing the foundation’s graphic design, website updates, and social media presence, she plays a pivotal role in hosting key events such as Brooke USA’s Divertimentos & Dressage event in Wellington, FL.
Kendall’s background in journalism and women’s studies, combined with her experience at Phelps Media Group, has equipped her with the skills necessary for managing high-level communications. Her exceptional writing and editing abilities, as well as her talent for designing compelling visual content, have significantly enhanced Brooke USA’s public presence. Kendall’s comprehensive communication skills and leadership have been instrumental in the organization’s success, making her a deserving candidate for the 2025 AHP Media NextGen Award.
