Lisa Wysocky Co-authors Nonfiction Book About Horses with Fictional Character, Announces Contest

Award-winning author, trainer, instructor, and podcaster Lisa Wysocky announces the publication of Lead Ropes Don’t Lead Horses: And 49 Other Thoughts for Horse Lovers, co-authored with the lead character in her award-winning mystery series, Cat Enright.

“This was the idea of my editor and publisher,” Wysocky said, “and it was one of the most difficult writing tasks I have ever undertaken. Getting the tone and balance right with Cat Enright, and delivering a book packed with relevant information took us a while, but Cat and I are both very pleased with the end result.”

At the end of many of the chapters in the Cat Enright mysteries are true-to-life horse tips, and Lead Ropes Don’t Lead Horses expands on those thoughts on horse behavior, care, training and riding.

In addition, there is a contest. Throughout the book are a few underlined words. If a reader strings those words together to form a sentence (or two) and emails it to cooltitleseditor@gmail.com, they will receive a complimentary ebook version of any Cat Enright mystery of their choice. Entries must be in before Dec. 31, 2024, and one grand prize winner will be drawn to receive a full set of the print version of the Cat Enright mysteries, signed by the authors.

The book can be found here, or in-stores and online everywhere. A limited number of review copies are available and can be requested by emailing the publisher at cooltitleseditor@gmail.com.

About Cat Enright

Cat Enright was born in Chicago, but before she turned ten, moved to rural Bucksnort, Tennessee to live with her maternal grandmother. This was after her mother died and her father found solace in the bottle. Horses at a riding stable down the road saved her, and she earned a B.S. in equine management from Middle Tennessee State University. Shortly after graduation her grandmother passed, and Cat used the $55,000 in cash that she found stuffed under her grandmother’s mattress for a down payment on twenty acres in Ashland City, Tennessee. Ten years later, Cat has amassed several dozen national and world champion Appaloosa wins, and trained many national champion riders. She likes horses better than people, only cooks cold cereal and hot chocolate, and has a habit of stumbling over dead bodies. Learn more at Facebook.com/CatEnrightMysteries
