EQUUS Television Network Kicks Off Another Great Year of Coverage in Florida

It’s the beginning of another great year for the EQUUS Television Network as they get ready to go around the nation and the world to keep you up on the equestrian news near and far. In February they begin that journey in Wellington, FL for the Friday Night Stars at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. In preparation for that journey, EQUUS TV correspondent Diana De Rosa spoke with Thomas Baur, the Show Director of the Global Dressage Festival at Wellington International.

Baur has handled a lot of events both near and far and especially in Germany where he got some exposure to his first horse event, which is how he got involved in the horse world. His background includes working with the FEI and the International Equestrian Association. Now he is involved with the European Equestrian Federation Dressage Working Group. All of this has inspired him to focus even more on the welfare of the horse.

“We always have to keep in mind the welfare of the horse and how we can improve that,” commented Baur in an EQUUS TV VIP chat with De Rosa (https://equustelevision.com/watch/2973).

We all know that the horse world has come a long way and especially the USA dressage teams who have had many successes at the recent Olympic Games. Baur credits the introduction of Global Dressage at the end of 2011 with those successes.

EQUUS had a chance to see some of the up-and-coming dressage riders when they covered the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games and those riders are continuing to shine bright. Having the Florida weekend kick off with dressage is perfect but there’s more.

Next on the Florida journey is enjoying the top show jumpers from here and abroad in Saturday Night Lights at Wellington International. Those attending may see equestrians who will be representing their country in this year’s Olympic Games in Paris where De Rosa will be sharing the EQUUS TV viewers with all the action as it unfolds.

“This will be my 10th time covering an Olympic Games and I’m honored to be able to share Paris 2024 with all our viewers. I hope you will take that journey with us,” commented De Rosa.

This weekend’s coverage will also include an afternoon of polo at the US Polo Association’s National Polo Center (NPC) as EQUUS Television will be providing coverage of  the world’s  top dressage, show jumping and polo athletes through the entire weekend.

On Sunday, 2.25, there’s one more event that will focus a shining light on two incredible equestrians. Olympic Gold Medalist David O’Connor (who now holds the title of USEF Chief of Sport and former USEF President, and current USEF President Tom O’Mara will be receiving the coveted Spirit Award.  These awards will be presented by the EQUUS Foundation, and  this honor is presented to select equestrians who have significantly elevated the image and desirability of horses.

While all of that is happening in one weekend, keep tuned to EQUUS Television Network for this year’s upcoming event coverage and concise news reports.

EQUUS Television Network CEO John Barlett adds “South Florida is one of the world’s leading Destinations for Equestrian Sport, particularly in the Winter Season, and the epicenter of the action this month is Wellington, FL, where EQUUS Television will provide Equestrian Lifestyle Enthusiasts around the world an up close and personal experience of all of the activity happening now, from Dressage, to Grand Prix, to Polo to Equine Health and Welfare in South Florida and around the world.”
