XIT Ranch Joins as Presenting Sponsor of the Cowboy Class at Snaffle Bit Futurity®

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) welcomes XIT Ranch as the presenting sponsor of the Cowboy Class at the 2022 Snaffle Bit Futurity®. As an expansion of their sponsorship with the NRCHA, XIT Ranch has committed $10,000 in added prize money for this year’s Cowboy class.

“The XIT Ranch is thrilled to support working ranch cowboys through our sponsorship of the NRCHA’s newly adopted Cowboy Class,” said Drew Knowles of XIT Ranch. “The day-to-day skills we use for our jobs and the horses we perform them on deserve to be showcased as it is an integral part of the fabric of our great nation. We believe this return to our ranching roots in the show pen will help steward Vaquero traditions to future generations.”

The Cowboy Class introduces working ranch cowboys to the reined cow horse. Eligibility for this class is limited to individuals working on ranching and livestock operations, and who have earned less than $15,000 in NRCHA Open and Non Pro monies outside of the Cowboy Class.

“NRCHA added the Cowboy Class as an invitational event at the Snaffle Bit Futurity several years ago as a way to highlight cow horse’s connection to the working ranch horse and cowboy,” said Anna Morrison, NRCHA executive director. “This year the Board approved it as an official class, so for the first time ever the Cowboy Class is open for all who meet the eligibility to enter. We couldn’t be more grateful to our partners at XIT Ranch for helping us launch this class in such a meaningful way!”

In addition to the added money supported by XIT Ranch, Cowboy Class competitors will be riding for their chance to win a Tad Sanders custom saddle and a Gist champion buckle.

The entry deadline for the Cowboy Class has been extended to Monday, September 19. Entry forms and class rules are available online at nrcha.com/nrcha-snaffle-bit-futurity.

The Snaffle Bit Futurity® presented by Metallic Cat will be held October 6-22 at the Will Rogers Memorial Complex in Fort Worth, Texas. For more details regarding the upcoming event, including schedule, entry information, and to purchase tickets, visit nrcha.com/nrcha-snaffle-bit-futurity
